Microdetermination of Proline in Serum.
نویسندگان
چکیده
An accurate method for determination of proline in serum has been adapted to a micro scale, with good results. Acidic ethanol is used as a serum deproteinizing agent prior to development of color with ninhydrin and its extraction into benzene. The range of accuracy is ± 3.0% with as little as 0.2 ml. serum. The microdetermination of this amino acid facilitates study of the intermediary metabolism of proline in pediatric patients as well as in small laboratory animals. The method is also useful in the study of amino acid and collagen biosynthesis in a number of experimental systems.

Automated, simultaneous microdetermination of calcium and magnesium by atomic absorption.
A procedure is described for the simultaneous, automatic determination of serum calcium and magnesium with the AutoAnalyzer, and a dualchannel, double-beam atomic absorption spectrophotometer, the IL Model 153. Advantages over existing procedures include a high rate of analysis (90 samples or 180tests per hour) and low sample consumption (a total of 30 l for both determinations). We have compar...
متن کاملLectin affinity electrophoresis of alpha-fetoprotein detected by immunoenzymatic and chemiluminescent amplification followed by direct scanning.
Microdetermination of alpha-fetoprotein (AFP) glycoforms by lectin affinity electrophoresis followed by chemiluminescence reaction using horseradish peroxidase (POD) or alkaline phosphatase (ALP) in antibody-affinity blotting was developed. The intensity of chemiluminescence obtained by ALP was greater than that by POD; however, the coefficient of variation with POD was less than that with ALP....
متن کاملMicrodetermination of Chloride in Biological Fluids, with Solid Silver Iodate
was outlined in detail, with gasometric measurement of the iodate resulting from the reaction. In this paper titrimetric measurement of the iodate is described. Titrimetric measurement of the iodate is directly applicable to the supernatant fluid in the AgI08 precipitation of chloride from salt solutions, urine, serum, and protein-free jiltrate of serum and of whole blood.’ For the titrimetric ...
